Valerie and Andy met years ago at the Avon Softball Park, playing ball against each other. Outside of a crush, competitive comraderie and playing the game they both love, that time didn't lead up to the two of them being together just yet. The two of them returned to the ballpark every summer until finally, in the summer of 2014, everything aligned and the timing was right for Andy to ask Valerie on a date. Six years after that first date, Andy got down on one knee to ask Valerie to be his wife above the trees in the Hickory Ridge Lookout Tower called "The Fire Tower" at the Hoosier National Forest in Bloomington, IN, in February of 2020.
In August of 2021, the two wed under the shade of trees behind the lovely venue of Lizton Lodge, with halos of light peaking through the branches. Lizton Lodge is a wedding and event venue located in Hendricks County. The venue was a former residence built is into a 22,000 sqft estate on 100 acres. It features elaborate woodwork, unique chandeliers, a cozy atmosphere, and beautiful secluded grounds with seasoned trees.
Andy and Valerie celebrated becoming Mr. and Mrs. Whiteman. The day began with sweet moments with the wedding party, going into a first look without the look in the library between the couple, and ended with a wild dance party in the reception hall's dance floor.
